Mikiya Kobayashi Olive Oil Bottles for Plain Company
I spent the summer of 2015 in Tokyo working for the industrial and furniture designer Mikiya Kobayashi. Food import business Plain Company had asked him to redesign the packaging for four different high end olive oil brands to suit the Japanese market. For this project I did the research, CAD, and suggested various label designs.
The shape is inspired by oil drips and ancient amphorae vases.
Kobayashi wanted to design a vessel that could be repurposed and reused.
